You will have access to all the facilities of Les Bernardies: heated pool and pool house, courtyard, sauna, workshop, bread oven/library, playground, petanque court, and parking. Free wifi is available in the public areas.
The pool is heated from May 8 to September 24 and earlier/later when the weather permits. It has a "beach" (1.5 m wide, 30 cm deep) for small children. Once a week there will be swimming in the evening. We serve soft drinks, snacks and ice cream at the pool bar.
The courtyard is in the center of Les Bernardies and is a pleasant place to read, play games or have a coffee. Around the courtyard you have the bread oven, the workshop, the sauna and the laundry room. In summer we organize our barbecue and pizza evenings for our guests in the courtyard.
The old bread oven serves as a reception, tourist information (brochures) and library (books, board games). Here we also serve breakfast to our guests in the guest room (or in the courtyard). You can buy specialties from Périgord like home-made jams, foie gras, chocolates, which we are happy to pack for you.
At the playground we have five swings (two for children <2 years), a slide and a children's rocker. On the lawn, children can play games or soccer. The area around the playground is closed to cars.
We have many different animals: Our two donkeys Vicky (big dark curly lady) and Bouba (grey, small male), our three goats Ciboulette, Lolotte and Rose, our guinea pigs, our silk chickens and the peacock Leo, and not to forget, our goldfish in the yard fountain.
The studio is Chantal's domain where she creates with our young (and sometimes older) guests the most memorable pieces of art. It's also the perfect place for that all-important soccer game you'd like to see on TV.
The French national sport of pétanque is a must at Les Bernardies. We have a very nice field with a beautiful view and many people like to play a game in the late afternoon. And when there are many enthusiasts, a tournament is organized.
At the door of Bernardies begins the hiking route La Boucle des Bernardies and the mountain bike route VTT 20 Carlux Simeyrols, The hiking route is 8.7 km long or 2.5 hours of walking and moderate category. The MTB 20 itinerary is 21,5 km long with 830 meters of difference in altitude.
Our sauna is available to our guests during the low season and part of the mid season for a rental fee. A sauna session is available for 2 to 3 persons for a duration of 2 hours. You must inform us one day in advance.
